Case Study: Mr Sullivan, Deal, Kent
Introduction
Mr Sullivan from Deal, Kent saw how much of a difference renewable energy could make to his life and so, having read a number of articles on the government feed-in tariff scheme, decided to investigate the possibility of installing a solar photovoltaic system within his semi-detatched property. He spent the next few months researching the costs and benefits of solar pv and then decided to take the next step.
The Property
Mr Sullivan lives in a semi-detatched property in Kent which had a limited amount of roof space due to a previous solar thermal installsation. His roof has a southernly aspect which means that he is in an ideal position to maximize the amount of energy that can produced from solar PV.
The Installation
After a consultation period which included a full energy survey of their property, Mr Sullivan decided to install a 1.95 kilo watt peak system. From start to finish the system took 2 days to install and cost around £8,000.

The Result
Since installing the system Mr Sullivan have seen reductions in his energy bills (50%) and is on course to receive an annual tax-free payment of £500 via the Feed-in tariff.
